Hello Scotty I been thinking of buying a 1991 Toyota mr2 turbo I saw a guy selling a clean title one for 84 thousand miles and he wants 10k is that a good price or should I negotiate the price he says they he replaced the turbo recently with an oem one.

Does he have documented proof of his claims? Especially the suspiciously low mileage?

If it were $5k and came with paperwork to prove the new turbo was done, I may consider it.

At $10k, easy pass.

Well I personally don't think the mr2s are worth that kind of money they were kind of an oddball car failure from Toyota's perspective I don't think I'd pay that much money if a mechanic like me checks it out and says it's in good shape I'd offer quite a bit less

My 2 cents as a NA MR2 Turbo owner, the market before all the Covid used car craziness was more like $2500 for NAs, $5000 for Turbos - if they were good running/driving/decent paint and interior, etc. I wouldn't be too suspicious of low mileage, as it's not really a "family" or long trip car - most people keep them as weekend play cars.
