I am planning to buy a new SUV for me and my family.
I am looking for something with low maintenance cost over several years.
1. Do you have any suggestions?
2. Looking at Honda HR-V 2023 and Honda CR-V 2023, price is lower for HR-V.
Will Honda HR-V 2023 have higher maintenance cost over the years?
3.How long will the Honda HR-V last? Will it go to 250k-300k miles?
4. I was also wondering whether you have any suggestions for specific model for HR-V 2023?
1. If you need the space, get the CRV. If you don’t get the HRV.
2. IMHO, the maintenance cost should be about the same for the turbo versions. They are both built in the Civic platform.
The HRV with the naturally aspirated 2.0 liter engine will probably have slightly lower maintenance cost in the long run, due to less complexity with no turbo.
3. No one can predict the future, especially with such new vehicles. Assuming proper maintenance. Judging by past performance of the Civic platform, 250k-300k is a fair guesstimate.
4. With the HRV specifically, I would go for the 2.0 L naturally aspirated engine, because of less complexity, less potential maintenance. But if you need the space, get the CRV.
Thanks Kaizen for the detailed explanation.
They are 2 very different vehicles, space wise.
Have you already test driven them both?
Don't expect any modern vehicle to go 300,000 miles, trouble free. Even Toyota/Honda products..
Thanks InThrustWeTrust.
I haven't test driven any yet. Will be doing it soon.
I was trying to understand what car to buy.
