Hi Scotty , my nephew just bought a brand new 2022 Honda Civic ex last night. I see on the Honda website all civics now have a feature called IDLE STOP. When the car is at a red light or stop sign the car turns OFF to save gas then restarts when you press the throttle to go. It says there’s a button to disengage idle stop for that one trip but once you stop the car then restart it idle stop feature is back again. Watching your videos I see this is hard on an engine in the long run. Do you think Honda is really worried that much about gas mileage or is it really a built in feature to wear out engines quicker so cars don’t last 15 plus years and Honda sells more cars? Scam I say.I’m a diehard Honda owner since 93 but if all Hondas have this b.s idle stop feature I’m never buying a new Honda again. Off to Toyota. Good thing my 2018 civic is good for another 12 years easy. Thought you should know this to warn people.thanks Scotty. Big fan.mike Pelkonen from montreal area.canada. Ps my wife and I got married in niagra falls in 2012.
Yes it's really stupid but they're all doing that to appease government regulations gas mileage and pollution. And yes of course it causes more in the engine every time you start an engine it has a little bit of where most of the way on your engine occurs upon startups
You will just have to remember to push the button to shut off auto start/stop whenever you start the car. You put on your seat belt and check your mirrors every time you drive, make it a part of your routine to push this button too.
Might be a waste of money, but I found this website through another forum. Looks promising, but I don’t have one myself.

Just realized they don’t seem to have a Honda option ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
