Hey scotty my cousin is looking to buy a brand new honda odyssey van, should there be concerns about the transmission still or should she go after a Toyota Sienna van?

Honda Odysseys had history of weak automatic transmission (some of older years can be decent) but the new ones has 10 speed transmission which is questionable only time will tell but better than the 9 speed in earlier years for sure.
Toyota Sienna is tried and true those things can run a long time.

Just stick with the Toyota Sienna.

Sienna if you like safe bets.
Odyssey if you like to gamble, but not gamble too crazy.
Pacifica if you have a gambling addiction and want to lose your life savings.
