Honda Oil Dilution

Scotty, I’m thinking about buying the latest generation Honda CR-V. I live in Canada and they didn’t sell any of them with 2.4L engines, so I have to stick to the 1.5L. I’m worried about oil dilution and the cold problems too (since I’m in Canada). Apparently they fixed the problem in 2019. Should I get a CR-V 1.5, or a RAV4 or a 2015-2016 CR-V?

If you like the CRV, get the CRV. The oil dilution issue was never catastrophic and basically affected those who like to push their oil change intervals the most.

I have a 2020 Accord with the 2.0T. It has a little oil dilution, so I change the oil religiously (as you should in any motor) and use an oil catch can as an extra precaution. So far, 32k miles and zero problems. Love the car.

If I were you, I would choose the RAV4.

I would just go with the RAV4 for peace of mind.
