I currently have a 2010 Odyssey with 137, 000 and problems. I'm looking to replace it with either another used Odyssey or a Sienna. As far as reliability is concerning, which one do you suggest? Probably a low miles 2017 or 2018.
Power steering fluid leak, oil leak ( just had that repaired just over a year ago at the dealer). AC compressor sometimes won't kick in.
Toyota Sienna without a doubt.
Yeah I'd go Toyota Sienna all day between the two.
I'd consider a Sienna before 2017 so it has the 6 speed automatic
Some years of the Odyssey were OK but compared to the Sienna you would just want to get the Sienna as it would be more reliable. Though truth be told the Odyssey is a better van my parents own one especially in the 2013-2017 ish era but when it comes to reliability I have to say Sienna.
What are the problems of the current Odyessy?
I recommend the Sienna, but I’d go with the 2016 which has the 6-speed automatic transmission (last MY with the 6-speed) just to get the most life out of it. 2017 MY was first year to have the 8-speed and always best to avoid the first year or two of a new rollout. If you wanted a newer one go 2018 MY, but I recommend also looking at the 2016 one for longevity.
