Topic starter
I have a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L (approx. 72,000 miles) that when I start it it will sometimes makes a loud winding or grinding noise. Sometimes it takes up to 8 attempts before it turns over. Sometimes it starts immediately. I replaced the starter already.
My mechanic said it will cost $4200 to fix it because the fly wheel is attached to the transmission. Any advice? Is it worth keeping. Should I try to sell it as is?

Why your mechanic is an absolute scumbag. The flywheel is like 700 bucks and the labor is less than 700 bucks . That's 1400. Go somewhere else. The guys a crook

Assume the new starter made no difference at all.
