I have a 2010 Dodge Avenger R/T with 3.5 liter and 6-speed automatic. It has 122,000 miles and it runs fast and great. Recently the Hood open notification came on on my dash. I checked the usual stuff and I ended up replacing the switch, but that didn't work for long, I then cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and it worked for a few days, Now it's back on. I then disconnected the battery for an hour to hopefully reset it and that didn't work. What's the next thing I should do? I have to get it fixed because the remote start won't work with this error. Sometimes it will turn off and be fine, but then that only lasts till the next time I drive the car. Any thoughts?
TIA
I just scanned my car with an Innova scan tool 3170RS and got the code B1820 Hood Ajar, input circuit high
Just use a jumper on the switch to make it think it's closed. Same as a clutch switch.
I did that and no change. Now I am thinking that since the switch is new then I should replace the part the switch plugs into, the receptacle.
Either way, it should solve the problem.
