How can I know for sure my honda engine valves need adjusting?

I'm using a 2006 Honda CR-V and I don't think the previous owner never adjusted the valves. What signs should I look for when deciding that it needs valve re-adjustment?

And what other usual maintenance do you recommend for my car?

Well the problem is they can be too tight or too loose the loose ones will clatter but the tight ones won't good idea just to take a valve cover off and measure one of the valves they generally all wear the same to see if they need adjusting

I assume you have at least 100k miles on that. Do it now and then every 30k miles.

Your owner's manual maintenance section should tell you at what mileage intervals the valves need adjustment.
