Just made this purchase thinking it was a good purchase because I got rid of my Mazda CX five 2018 I had it for five months and I absolutely hated it nice on the inside but everything else about it was terrible. I’m hoping this Honda accord engine 2.0 Turbo engine will last me a long time. I’ve never owned a car with turbo so was just wondering how many miles it could possibly go because I plan on taking care of this thing and all the maintenance. I bought it brand new right off the truck. And I was also wondering how the 10 speed automatic transmissions were in dependability.
The engine in the Accord is a K-Series engine. Usually I am hesitant about turbos. But the K-Series has a 20-year history of reliability. Not only that, some adventurous folks have dialed up the horsepower to 1000hp with modification on the K-Series. So I am confident it can handle 252hp stock with a turbo on your Accord.
I always say for turbocharged engines Honda over any other manufacturer. Yes naturally aspired is the best choice but Honda has been making turbocharged for a very long time now so they know how to make it and have figured out the oil dilution issue too so yes you should be fine.
everything else about it was terrible
out of curiosity, what didn't you like? I've heard other people praise Mazda, but I've never owned one.
Anytime I would take it to the dealer they would say everything was normal.
well we know they're liars
What didn’t you like about the CX5?
Kaizen I bought a used CX 5 the reason why I got rid of it was a 2018. Just things about it I did not know or realize the salesman was trying to distract me from when I was purchasing it. The fact that like when he was start the thing it will sometimes freeze the software though they said that it had been fixed in the Carfax some sort of issues it had a few things that had been fixed on it thinking it would be fine. What really got me that I didn’t know until later is when you barely hit the gas on the thing is that it would like kind of jerk you back-and-forth. Anytime I would take it to the dealer they would say everything was normal.
Mazda CX-5 (...) I absolutely hated it
Why? I know the turbo models had engine issues, and some quality issues with transmissions.
But generally, it's a very chic large crossover.
Honda Accord (...) 2.0 Turbo (...) just wondering how many miles it could possibly go
Well, it's a direct injected turbo charged engine pushing over 250 horsepower.
With very good service (as in engine oil replacements every 3k miles), it probably could go 125k-150k miles.
Quality at Honda is a bit "meh", the K20C is designed well, but there are some recently documented cases of low manufacturing quality - But these usually popup during the warranty so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

(^ that car was not modified, it allegedly only has a down pipe)

how the 10 speed automatic transmissions were in dependability
Nothing is really known about the transmission yet.
Looking online so far, owners seem to be satisfied and they seem to hold up so far.
Just made sure to replace the ATF every 30k-40k and not to overheat it on a regular basis!
(Modern transmissions have very delicate hydraulic controls that get easily ruined by dirty fluid, and a lot of them also run hot, sometimes even above 115 degrees Celsius, so it's not a bad idea to connect a scanner and see what driving habits / routes can cause the ATF to become too hot to avoid them as much as possible)
