I bought a 2005 Dodge Dakota st 4x4 3.7l v6 automatic with 25000 miles now 115000 miles. Since I got the truck in 08 while on cruise sometimes RPMs will rev up to say 2500 then it will shift gears. But it does not do it all the time? The dealer could not figure it out and no codes ever. I have done regular maint since I got it. Flushes trans about every 15000 miles and changed 4x4 fluid and rear end fluid as well along with adding synthetic oil and mobile 1 oil filter every 5000 miles. I changed the filter and fluid and flushed at 90000 miles. Due to regular maint was thinking of flushing trans with new filter and fluid and changing input and output sensors and shift selenoid while doing all this. Do you think this will help or hurt since it has done it from the beginning and does not do it all the time and only in cruise?? Or should I get a factory rebuilt transmission??
If you want to keep the vehicle get a factory rebuilt transmission
Should i still do the flush and maint with replacing parts? Thanks Scotty
