Hi all
I am having some issues with my windshield wipers on my 2022 Edge with 33000 miles. I recently changed the front wipers in May of 2024 (6 months ago from the time of this posting) with OEM wipers and now they are starting to streak again. I changed the back one with an OEM wiper in January 2024 (11 months ago from the time of this posting) but it works just like it did when it left the factory.
Is it normal for windshield wipers to start streaking after six months in a hot humid climate where I live? Anything I can do to get a few more miles out of them?
Crap wipers will wear out faster. (OEM are not necessarily the best quality.) For longer wiper life buy better wipers, like silicone.
After reading up on them I noticed that the OEM wipers are rubber. Given that they’re made out of rubber is it normal for them to wear out after six months? My car lives outside (not in a garage) in a warm humid climate
Ok. Any brands in particular can you recommend? There are so many brands it'll make your head spin.
@fishingandcarsenthusiast123 Any of the leading brands should be OK. Store brands and unknowns can be sketchy.
