Dear Scotty, my 2002 Lexus ES300 Automatic Transmission with 155k miles seems to be idling a bit low. I’m not sure what it should be idling at but I feel like idling at around 500rpm is too low. It occurs in drive mostly if I’m at a stop in drive, or if I’m in park and the car is warm. The idle seems to just be steady at 500rpm. Sometimes it’ll bounce up to 700 and then go back down to 500. It also used to stall occasionally during low idle but I cleaned the entire throttle body, mass airflow sensor, and changed the air filter and now it doesn’t stall but it still seems to idle low. What should I do? Everything else runs fine
Watch my video make your car run better with a little spray cleaner make sure the air filter is clean and you don't have any vacuum leaks
