Hello, I have this suzuki motorcycle that when its cold starts and idles ok but once the air cooled engine warms up the idle is inconsistent and then stalls. It also stalls when I am slowing down and coming to a stop, so then in order to get it running again I have to pull down on the throttle as I am turning on the ignition. I am not sure what it could be, the bike has 2500 miles and it has not been driven much. Just got it for my first motorcycle but was not expecting this problem. I was thinking maybe spark plug but then it has to be something with the fuel air mixture. When I have the choke open it stalls and when it is closed it stalls as well.
Would appreciate some help on this one I have looked on youtube and thought maybe its a fuel pressure regulator or could it just be a dirty carburetor? When i adjust the idle screw the engine revs up louder for a few seconds then the revs go down and the cycle repeats itself until the bike eventually stalls.
Thank you for reading this.
Oh it's carburetor problems for sure that's classic. Motorcycle sit in a carburetor's got all clogged up and you have to take them apart. Then soak all the main parts and parts cleaner overnight to remove all the parts that have covered with carbon and they're awful, tiny small holes. Then get a rebuild kit and rebuild it. Or just buy another carburetor and replace it
Lo and behold Scotty does it again with the suggestion, thanks for the recommendation. I wen't to a local shop and told the guy to clean out the carburetor and now it does not stall out.
Appreciate the help scotty.
Stay ridin.
Alright I will try to get the carb cleaned up and if that works then savage scotty strikes again with the helping hand 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to read and provide with an answer, I appreciate it.
