I have a 2011 hyndia santa fa 3.5 v6, we do lots of camping, towing a aframe, weights 900 kg or 2000 lbs, I installed electric trailer breaks, we do add equipment , luggage and stuff comes to about 800.lbs with my wife and I included. Or close too it guessing it, that's in the camper and in the suv, we've taking care of our suv, everything is always updated, oiled underneath we live in Canada, I wax it twice a year my self, there is now 275,000 km or 170,877 miles. I want to keep the suv till it dies too expensive to buy a new one . Lol.. should we use better gas when towing or it doesn't make a difference, or any other advice. My hubby always is watching your utube channel and has used many of your tips, he says your the expert., thanks for helping.
That kind of weight is fine for that Santa Fe, but take it easy when you are driving!
Since it already has 170K miles, I wouldn't recommend towing any more, but you should be fine with under 3K lbs.
If the engine is suffering detonation while under a huge load, you can bump up to a higher octane rating. But unless the engine is detonating, there is no reason to get a higher octane.
