Hey Scotty, I have on a 2010 Ford Taurus and I want to change the brake fluid. I use a pump to do my power steering, could I apply the same tactic to the brake master cylinder? Put the pump in and replace what comes out. And do that a few times
I turkey baste it out of the reservoir and put new fluid in. Then I bleed all the brakes. Starting from the furthest away.
Great idea to use a turkey baster to remove the fluid from the resevoir (dont remove it all because air may be introduced into the brake line, but since replacing the brake fluid, not a big deal, but better to not introduce air in the first place). As for a pump, sounds good. Can also fill the resevoir with fresh fluid, put a hose on the brake bleed nut that is dipped into brake fluid, open the nut, pump the brake gently, refill the resevoir, pump the brake and repeat until clean fluid come out of the brake caliper. The method is alot of "moving" lol, so the pump would be less moving.
