Tornado intake fuel saver

Hey Scotty, I remember 10 or 20 years ago the advertisements for the tornado intake fuel saver that can be installed on any car. Is this still useful?

I drive a 2012 Subaru Forester and a 2017 Subaru Legacy, by the way, every time I YouTube "all-wheel drive systems" , all the videos say symmetrical all-wheel drive is superior to other all-wheel drive systems. Your thoughts?

The Tornado was a scam. The idea was that by swirling the air before it enters the intake, it would make more power from the motor. It did not work.

And yes, S-AWD is better than standard AWD.

that product might be bogus, but the swirling effect does exist. That's how GM initially made more power with Vortec heads right? They made a stir in the racing community.

Correct. There is a benefit to sending turbulent air into the intake. BUT...this was like a $5 piece of plastic essentially claiming to do what those heads did. Not gonna happen with a cheapo accessory.

No, I think on some older cars with carburetors, it could be sort of. But not on anything newer. It just restricts some airflow.
