Hi I had a question I want to properly do this so not to ruin my car I currently have a cooler that plugs into the cigarette lighter however my cigarette lighter doesn't have any power to it when I leave the vehicle I would like it to straight wire it to the battery but I know that's improper so what would you suggest how could I I guess straight wire it with the toggle switch maybe? It's a '07 Toyota matrix XR.

No matter how you do it, those things draw a lot of power. You may return to a dead battery.
