How would I keep my 2ed gen dodge ram 1500 transmission from going out knowing there crap?
I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 with 62,000 miles with an automatic transmission and a 5.2. Was wondering if there was a way to preserve it so it’ll last longer.

It's already lasted over a quarter century so if it died tomorrow it would still have been considered long-lasting.
About all you can do is take it easy on the thing and change fluid regularly if already not too late at this point.

The main thing you have going for you is the low mileage, assuming it's accurate. However age also takes its toll.
