Hi this is Sean my 1996 Dodge ram 1509 was underwater from last hurricane but not long and the truck was not running when the water did come in. I have been working on it for awhile now buying a lot of WD-40 and oil lol please tell me if I can save it ? I have gotten the water out of everything and replaced new fluids and I don't have money for another truck I love my old truck so much everyone is telling me it's toast cause of the salt and yes there's corrosion and rust I changed relays and fuses got the lights and ignition to come on but found water in the spark plugs what should I do if I can't turn the motor with a wrench I don't know what to do I'm so worried so that's why I've came to you....😔
First of all, it depends on what kind of water. If it was salt water from the ocean. Forget it salt corrodes. Absolutely everything and it's not worth doing. Now. If it's freshwater you're going to probably have to replace half of the electronics on the truck but it could be repairable. If you drain all the fluids out engine transmission, rear end, you name it without starting it and then replace all the fluids and then repair all the electronics
