I have a 1997 ford f150 4rw70 4x4, trans went out. It has a white 9 pin connector. i bough a 1998 ford expedition 4x4 transmission with a 7 pin black connector. Can i repin my connection to my truck to adapt to the 98' transmission and make it work? And what do I do with the other 2 vehicle power wires not used in the 7 black pin connector?

I never attempt such swaps because who knows what kind of in a relationship goes on between the wiring the pins the computer software in the sensors on the transmissions. But what the heck you can try it hope it works
