Using nitrogen instead of air in tires

  • I live in Alaska and I drive 275 miles once a week. I have experienced up to a 40° change in temperature (-20°F to 20°F). During the winter I ignore my TPS  warning light.  Should I use nitrogen?

Ordinary air is already about 80% nitrogen.

Nitrogen in the tires is a now famous dealer rip off.  Don't waste your money.

If you can get nitrogen for free or as part of your wheel shops installation and maintenance, absolutely.

But if you have to pay extra money for air, no.

IIRC, Costco uses nitrogen in their tire by default. Unless something changed.
