Dear Scotty, I bought a Used Nissan Sentra 2014 with 87,000 miles and currently has 122,000 miles. I never changed the CVT transmission Oil and I Noticed a leak in the Transmission. Will it be safe to change the CVT transmission oil at that mileage? And is it ok to use CVT Transmission Sealer? # Great Fan of all your videos
Scotty’s right it is a challenge to set the fluid level on that since it’s heavily temperature related and there is no sealant to be added or used. Any stop leak additive will cause damage for sure and if you were dropping the pan it’s a metal gasket not sealant
I would not put any type of sealer in it but you're going to have to see a professional mechanic. Because there's no way for you to check the level there's no dipstick. And since it's leaking you have no idea how to fill it up correctly. If it wasn't leaking you just drain and put back in what comes out but since it's leaking you'd be low on fluid and you have to pay a mechanic to really do that right
It is probably leaking from a seal that needs to be replaced. That is the only proper fix.
