It is a small town dealership about an hour drive from where I live in Kansas.

They seem to sell A lot of older cars with lower mileage.  And I wondered how they are able to find so many cars with low miles on them?

@etre2244 in the future, can you put all your comments into the ‘Your Answer’ section down below? Thank you.

Yes, I can. Thank you, Daywalker.

We typically have good deal, fair deal, and over-priced.

Unfortunately, this case does not fit in any of those categories. The price is outrageous.

My question was: "What do you think a fair price for this van should be?"

You already know the answer:
My research, its worth $4,000 to $5,000.

I wouldn't buy any vehicle from Carfax typically because people from Carfax never maintain and fix their vehicles and it's too expensive. I would advise to buy from a private owner. Nowadays, cars are expensive from inflation.

@legendaryslayer, I would like to ask your opinion. I found a 2005 Sienna with 128,000 miles for sale by owner (asking $2850). It's incredibly beat up on the outside, meaning that the paint is super worn, there are no hubcaps, and the plastic body parts have deep cracks and rips, but a photo of the engine area looks good, showing only dust. Do you think this is worth exploring?

I would ask others too just to have more second opinions. If it's just cosmetic damages and not mechanical damages, then I think it's worth taking a look for. Just make sure there's no components damage in the undercarriage of the vehicle.

@etre2244 Also, I would check with a mechanic to see if everything else is in good shape aside from cosmetic damages.

@etre2244 please do not hijack the thread with your own question. Please create a new thread regarding your question. Thank you.

Daywalker, thank you for your feedback. I will do what you have suggested.

I have some questions about how to use this forum which I have accumulated. What (where) would be the best way to ask them?

@etre2244 I would submit your questions in the "Submit your Questions" section where you create your own thread.

Thank you for your input! Carfax is not selling this vehicle. A small town car dealer in Kansas has it listed for sale. And I searched Carfax for the history and maintenance of the vehicle.
My question: "What do you think a fair price for this van should be?"

@billiv Like you said, it's between $4,000 to $5,000. In my opinion, the fair price should be $4500.

For that price, I would not even consider it regardless of condition.

My question was: "What do you think a fair price for this van should be?"

The value of it would be whatever two people agree to honestly. I guess if you LOVE it, $4500 since that's about what research shows it to be worth.

A "Good Buy"?

It most certainly is!

For the seller.

Take the deal and watch $12,000 go Good Bye!

Thank you!
I think I put too much information with my question.......
I appreciate those who answered. But they didn't answer my actual question....
I Found a 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan AWD XLE Limited 7-Passenger 4dr Mini-Van It has roughly 98,000 miles on it. It has the 3.3L V6 and 5 speed automatic transmission. Small dealership asking Just under $12,000 for the minivan.....
My question: "What do you think a fair price for this van should be?"
Then I said, with my research I found it was worth $4,000 to $5,000.
I hope someone can give me some sort of price range that would be fair to me and fair to the small dealership.. I don't mind paying a retail price as long as It is fair for both parties involved.
Thanks again for your comment!
