I have a 2001 Tahoe 4wd with 209,700 miles its been babied but one issue I cant resolve is sometimes when i try to start it , it only crank crank cranks then sputter to start like a car coming from the dead. Sometimes it wont start the first crank it takes 2 times. I even put it in the On position before starting it. I made new keys still no solution. I also want to start towing 4000lb for work 4 days a week but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. Truck drives very nice descent on gas no issues.

Sound like u know about car.
I would look at the idle control value which has choke.
Replace or give that a good clean out.
Here a trick.
Spray some fuel in your throttle bottle and if it start right away .. maybe that will point u in the right direction ..
