Looking at the reviews from owners for that year, there are no complaints about the transmission or engine, though there were more other complaints than I like to see.
I looked up a 2019 subaru crosstrek, and was shocked to see how many issues they are having with their transmissions, and at low mileage. Nissan CVT are much worse even.
If I were looking to buy one, it having a CVT would not be a deterrent to me buying it, as it is a Toyota.
