Took my 2018 1.5 Litre Mazda 2 for an oil and filter Change. I have owned it since new.
Has 50,000Km on it.
After getting it back, it runs rough and is using too much fuel.
Could too much oil be the issue?
The Mechanic said he Cleaned the Air filter with compressed air (I Checked, he didn't as it was full of bugs and dirt)
I replaced the Air filter with a new one.
I cleaned the Mass airflow sensor with MAF Cleaner (And put some in the throttle body), let it run idle for 20 minutes and took it for a good drive down the highway.
I do not want to take it back to the mechanic as he says I might need spark plugs, even though they are not due until 120,000kms
Please Help Me! This is making me feel sick and anxious like you would not believe!
Get a new PCV valve.
What is a PCV valve?
**Edit, Looked it up
Why would this fail now? I had a basic oil change, have owned since new with only 50,000km (31,000 Miles)
The PCV valve evacuates blow by pressure in the crankcase by vacuum connection between the valve cover and the intake manifold. The gases are then re-burned in the engine. Over time, the valve gets crudded up and clogs and needs to be replaced to keep the engine running properly. Available at mazdaswag.com - $12.48.
