I just bought a 2012 pathfinder, driving on automatic it doesnt engage the overdrive, but if i do it manually i can drive on 5th gear.
What vould it be?

The transmission fluid looks red like recently changed.
It has 148000 miles.
Back wheel drive.
On automatic it wont shift to 5th, but manually it shifts to 5th and i can keep it there. Hot temperatures highway driving
Any DTCs when you scan it?
Is the engine fully warmed up when you experience this? ATF is topped up and serviced regularly?
Yes transmission fluid topped off, looks bright red. And yes durring highway driving hot engine
It's either the overdrive itself. But most likely, it's the transmission made by Jatco.
Another possibility is that the previous owner didn't maintain the car well. So they never changed the transmission fluid.
Have a mechanic to scan the transmission. You may have an electronic issue. Although I would not bother it since working on those transmissions cost a lot.
