Hey, I just recently bought a 2017 Honda CR-V LX AWD with the 1.5L Turbo Charged engine, The car has about 36000Km on it and I got it for about $20600 CAD before Taxes. It's a family SUV used for family purposes, a lot of short trips. I'm getting a little worried about the turbocharger and GDI dilemma and about the Oil dilution, Did I mess up? Was this a bad purchase? and most importantly are people being extra because it's Honda (A brand known for reliability and well-made cars that's now having problems)
I usually do typical maintenance to help keep my cars in tip-top shape, is there anything you recommended for this CR-V to help keep it running smoothly after 10-15 years?
Also what do you think of the Honda Maintenance Minder, is it worth following?
which engine is it? 2.4 or 1.5? Here in the states the LX came with a reliable 2.4 engine but the other trims came with the 1.5 engine known for oil dilution.
If its the 1.5, you will experience oil dilution and that has been talked about many times.
If its the 2.4, you shouldn't experience oil dilution but still change you oil every 5k miles (8k km)
