I need a bigger suv for my wife who currently has a renegade. We have 2 children and want a roomier suv but I dont wanna spend more than 15k. Whats a good, reliable option any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you
The current generation RAV4 and CRV will be a size up from your current Jeep Renegade.
An older generation Highlander may also be a good size. The latest two generations is two sizes up from your current Jeep.
Personally I would go with an older Lincoln Navigator. They’re huge, roomy, comfortable, and have big V8s. As far as I know they are reliable for the most part (correct me if I’m wrong) and if you’re willing to go with one that’s a little bit older they can be had for under $10,000 easily.
@matt129 Yes, Matt, I got a 2004 Nav, with the 5.4 DOHC InTech eninge, get one with that engine, if you can and try to avoid the Triton version. the years looks like 2003 2004 second generation, In 2005 No dipstick for the auto trans, 2004 they use 4 speed R100 autotrans same one used in the diesels. HVAC actuators rear often need replace, IWE hubs also, they are supposed to hold a vacuum when in 2wd. You will have to use PREMIUM 91+ Octane gas. Overall it is a solid vehicle, First Gen before 2003, I do not know much, same for 2005- third gen. Each year has it’s plus and minus check them all out and check the VIN codes what exactly is in your truck that you are thinking about. CHeck and see and smell oil, trans, coolant if they are ok or not. Best of luck, do not pay more than $4000
TBS… the 98-02 Nav Engine and parts thereof, a lot of them are the same in the second gen 2003 2004 engine… You will see various different engine appearance or beauty covers depending on the year, do not let this freight you. Shares lot of engine parts with the F 150 and Expedition from those years. Example. replaced Hose from Purge Valve to Intake Manifold. Usually it gets old crusty and leaky. No Nav 04 replacement available. Used the F 150 part from PV to IM. fits like a glove. same part. Had to replace rear brake calipers though,, frozen up
