Hi Scotty,
I drive a 2005 mercury mountaineer AWD V6 with 205000 Km for the past five years but in the last year I had to change the timing chain and the timing chain guides but my mechanic did wrong and the engine is gone I put a new engine in it and the transmission starts to fall apart. My question is should is trade it with a 2005 lincoln town car executive l with a 145000 km or not.
Thanks in advance your fan from Bahrain 🇧🇭
Bad luck comes in threes.
Move on from your present vehicle. The town car can be a good choice if it was well looked after, in the middle eastern heat.
I’d really take a step back & think very carefully about the next car purchase decision.
And whatever you do, get it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic (not your previous mechanic), before you buy it.
Yes I have a bad luck indeed
I really want a reliable can like a Toyota or a Honda but since I'm still a student I can't afford it because they are vary expensive I'm my country compared to the panther platform cars.
For my next car I will have a professional mechanic to check the car out and hope it will in a good shape for a knock around car.
The panther platform cars can last a long time. If the price is right, and another mechanic gives you the green light, I’d say go ahead!
Yeah that's what they are known for here and they are cheap enough. Also thanks for you advice man.
No worries & good luck!
Personally I would get rid of it.
