How do I fix misfiring

I recently got a code P0306 (#6 cylinder misfiring). Had the PCM replaced yet the same code keeps coming up and engine light stays on. Without replacing the engine can this be repaired?

Can you also show easy way to replace the crankshaft sensor on the Jeep as well. Thank You!

Always check our FAQ first. We have a whole article there explaining how to diagnose misfire.

Ouch. Expensive part. Why?

Engine replacement is typically not required. It's often something as simple as a worn spark plug or loose wire.

if you have no CPS codes, then leave it alone.

Is that the only code you are getting?  If it’s specific to that cylinder, have you already tried low hanging fruit items such as swapping spark plugs with another cylinder and see if the code moves to that cylinder?  Check the coils too.  Have you also ruled out the fuel injectors?  Pray it’s one of those 3.

Beyond that, you will have to go through our FAQ and rule items out one by one.
