I recently replaced my rear air suspension on my 03 town car. It rises to high and I can’t get it to set at the factory level and ounce it’s up it won’t come down which causes it to bounce when I’m driving. Any suggestions on how to fix it???
Did you switch off the air suspension system via the switch in the trunk?
Yes... I switched it off b4 I put them on and switched it on after they were on the car. It raised the car but it raised it to high...
As a owner of a 2001 Lincoln Towncar I can only say the height control switch is the only alternative. MY own car the bags are down and leaking...LOL! I have bought the replacements but their in the trunk....about 6 months...! But in your case...they only way is to adjust the height switch. basically it has a lever which is centered..and thats the no air position...lever goes one way...the compressor kicks in..goes the other air is bled off. You would have to unclip the longest lever off and move it to control the valve. and I guess...if the bags are bled off...move the lever so they air up to the height you want then adjust lever length then re-clip it in....I thought a job like this would have been a install bags...and your done kind of thing..guess not...Let me know on your progress...!
I have 2 two brothers with a 04 and 06 town car. I looked at the level under their car and it was on the eighth notch and mine was on the 11th. So I moved it to the eighth and hopefully that will set it right. I’ll let you know how it turns out... Thanks for the info.
