I want advice for charging extra lion iron batteries by the alternator

I dont know what a lion battery is but I have hooked up battery isolator.
What does this when the start battery has started it will sense the voltage and charge the second battery. Also during crank it will only allow the start battery to kick in.
Things to watch out for.
Depend on location thickness of cable.
Charging capacity drops off over distance.
You will strain your alternator more.
Have a cut off switch , when you camping and using the second battery u want to be 100% sure u are using one battery. If two battery go flat and you are in the bush with no one ... you could be walking a long way.
Secure the second battery well
