I want to build a campervan. What year and model would you recommend for reliability and longevity.

Sprinter is good but expensive. Transit is next.

Just take a ford e150. Conversion van high top. Gut the seats and build interior to suit. Great stealth camper. I like early 90s u can look also for wheel chair conversion rip out the lift sell it. Go from there, usually not abused also a perk.

Find an old VW (Air cooled engine) and rebuild the whole thing. They worth a lot if you can fix them up and you may sell with profit too.

That depends. Where on the global internet are you? And what's your budget?
In N.America I'd suggest an Express/Savana van.
