Scotty, my Wife's 2011 Honda CRV with 132,00 miles developed a replace gas cap message awhile ago. We replaced the cap with a genuine Honda cap, and the message remains. A couple thousand miles later, the check engine Iight is now on, and it switches back and forth with the replace gas cap notice and ck engine. Could it be the charcoal canister in the fuel system needing replacement?

run a diagnostic scan on the vehicle. There's a problem with the EVAP system. The canister is one of several possible issues.
