I have a 1975 maverick with a 250 straight 6 in it. I wanted some thoughts on upgrades like what is a good suspension, brakes, stuff like that. I bought it for $400. It runs when you put gas in the carb but it doesn't read fuel when I put it in the gas tank it stays on empty.

get it roadworthy first and see how much money you have left over for paint job and upgrades.
I think a set of modern tires, struts, bushings, brake parts etc will work wonders. It's a damn fine looking car.

As long as the underbody is solid...it is a unibody with a front subframe connected to the rear by the body.
302 high output V8 with a Tremac 5 speed along with a rear end out of a Foxbody Mustang. Upgrade to disc brakes all around.
