I just bought a 2006 Acura TL from who I thought was a private party turns out their a dealer but not a dealership any way it has 188,000 miles on it. As I was leaving had signed all the as is paper work he hands me a key and says you need to have a fob made you can get one at the local auto parts store .Now never says the key won't work on the door so my son licked the car once I was home and so now we can't get in the car. Come to find out the drivers side door has been replaced and so the code for the door key is not the same as the ignition key.well when we got into the car with a slim Jim the alarm was tripped so I put the key in the ignition and that only trips it off again that's how we found out about the different door now we can't get the alarm off my question is can't I just go to the auto One and get a fob at the auto Zone and program it for the door lock only .? I hope that makes sense ?

The key isdoing the programming correctly and most guys will not use an AutoZone key because half the time it won't work right the program. Call the local locksmiths in your area and pray you can find someone who can make one cuz if you have to go to Lexus bend over and start showing up that money
