Ignition switch

How do I test an ignition switch to see if power is going to the ignition module and the fuel pump on a 2002 Pontiac montana. What color are the wires.

Did you ever get your Montana to Crank by using the key (not jumping the starter)?

No I never got it to crank yet. I am thinking I must have triggered the anti theft system when I changed the are filter when I disconnected and reconnected the MAF. I tried the relearn but it didn't work either. I am reluctant to change the ignition switch because I don't know changing the air filter would make the ignition switch go bad.

I took a look at your owners manual. It says if the PASS-Key III is triggered a security message will be displayed
.
Are you seeing a "security message"?

Yes it blinks back and forth from car lock symbol to battery symbol. I tried the relearn as was explained to me and didn't work but I didn't have a fully charged battery but I still went through the process.

Well basically realize those vehicles are built with faulty ignition switches I would just replace it go to any place like AutoZone they can sell you one and if you want they can print you out a wiring diagram they do that free

Ok Thank you. I keep wondering how changing the air filter made the ignition switch go bad.

Can disconnecting and reconnecting the MAF do something to the ignition switch.
