Transmission dipstick level too high?

Topic starter

So I finally installed a transmission tube and dipstick on my 2013 Ininfiti G37 because I don't want to pay 300 at the dealer anymore, it's the official tube and stick for the G37, however according to the stick my fluid is way over the 2 lines, but the lines are at the bottom so idk if I'm over full or it's supposed to be way up there? The other issue is that I'm on my last key fob, all my keys after they die they refuse to work with a new workin battery, even the one from the dealer, rarely I get a red light on my car about fob recongicition failure or a code about my fobs not being recognized but then it goes away, I'm assuming it's related to that?

How are you checking the transmission fluid?

Also, per forum rules one question per topic please.

@chucktobias Oh sorry, forgot to look at that again, been a while and still tired from working on that install yesterday, I put the stick in, wipe it, then put it back in and it's really high up. but the stick is still elevated by an cm atm but yea, still high level.

Most manufacturers specify checking fluid level at operating temperature with the engine running and transmission in Park or Neutral. You need to look up the specifics for your vehicle and make sure you're checking the fluid level properly.

@chucktobias got it! I'll keep searching then, I've been looking at the infiniti service manuals (older years that have it by default) and haven't been able to find the dipstick search version of it despite installing the oem part for this vehicle lol
