Scotty, Love the show. I took your advice and bought a used 2018 highlander (automatic) from carmax. It's the FWD, 3.5L V6 with 42K miles. I read that I need to watch out for the fuel pumps on these. Is there anything else I need to look out for? Does this have a timing chain or belt? Keep up the great work.

There was a recall by Toyota on the fuel pump.  See here:

Check your VIN but your vehicle should have been part of the recall:

As for your engine, it has a timing chain.

The biggest thing is be sure you are on top of your oil changes (every 5,000 miles) and transmission fluid change intervals (40,000-50,000 miles) so they can last as long as possible.  Fluid changes are relatively cheap compared to a new engine/transmission.  Check the rest of your maintenance in your manual.

Thank you so much!

There's a forum for owners of the 3rd generation of Toyota Highlanders:

That forum might be of some interest, to you.

I appreciate that! I'll take a look.
