Check Engine Light ON for 2012 Mitsubishi Minicab

Hi Everyone,

I have a little problem with my micro van Mitsubishi Minicab 2012. The check engine light is ON.

As the obvious first step, I got the OBDII scan done by a mechanic but he didn't seem to know much about it, he said it was something to do with the spark plug holders (One of the three not working). Naturally, got them checked by an electrician but he says they are fine.

Someone said I should get the Carbon Cleaning done, so did that too. He opened up the exhaust system and cleaned the catalytic converter and scrubbed the oxygen sensor (with a sand paper) too.

The engine light is still ON.

Now, the symptoms I have seen are as follows:

1. The car vibrates a lot when at standstill (at traffic light, in parking).

2. Most of the vibration disappears when I turn off the AC (the AC button, regular fan still working).

3. The engine switches off very much like stalling when in low rpm (mostly when the gear is in D or R)

4. Sometime back, (winter season) there was black smoke when starting up the engine after a whole night

5. Many times the car does not move when in R to move out the parking, so I have to change to D then back to R

6. Also, the brake becomes really tight and unusable at times, but if I switch the AC OFF, it softens again

Please help {black}:scared: {black}:idontknow:

What are the codes?

I didn't know that electricians worked on cars.

What were the diagnostic codes? Have you checked your transmission fluid?
