I think the title says it all. Specifically, I am looking at 2022 CX-5 with 37,000 miles and a sealed tranny without a dipstick. Outside of a test drive how can I determine the condition of the transmission? Secondly, if I do buy the vehicle, is it recommended to have the transmission fluid changed by a mechanic immediately after purchase? Thank you.

There is no such thing as a "sealed transmission". Check the fluid from underneath the vehicle. At 37K miles there should be no problem changing fluid. Details are in the FAQ.

Really what you should be doing is to have a good mechanic give the vehicle a thorough inspection before you buy it.
