Hi everyone. I'm a college student and I'm learning how to drive. I currently have a driver's permit. What car insurance would you recommend for someone like me who is trying to save every penny I can?

Normally I would have nothing good to say about these blood suckers, but I have had good experiences with Progressive.

If you're driving a beater, just get liability and uninsured motorist insurance required by your state law. Comprehensive and collision are probably not practical for you in terms of cost.

I would also suggest installing stickers which alert others that you are a student driver.

I've had good luck with Travelers in the past. For the last 5 years I have been with Progressive and they have been ok.
