I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue S. When I turn the key, the engine doesn't turn over. It happens after the vehicle has been sitting for more than a few minutes, and it is random. My battery connections are clean and tight; also, the battery is new. I hear a faint, fast clicking when I hold the key in the ON position on the driver's side. I also have a flashing red vehicle with a key symbol on the dash display. I'm thinking maybe a starter relay.

It might be better to start thinking about your key battery and possible problems with your immobilizer/security system.
