Hi Scotty.
I have 2015 Dodge Dart SXT 2.4L 4 cylinder engine and 6 speed automatic stick transmission.
For the past few weeks. Randomly I have my key getting stuck in the ignition and I'm not able to get it to release unless I turn on the car and move the shift from park to drive and then back into drive. I've been doing some research online from other dodge dart owner forums. And few of them have mentioned a microswitch or brake interlock switch? Could this possible be the issue for my key fob. I've checked both keys and currently using Mya spare key but neither key looked damaged . Took it to the dealer and they found no codes for the "WIN" console or ignition module
Battery is brand new in May 2022 and I have been checking on the alternator. Mechanic said both ran fine so I'm not sure to go from here
Well try your second key often. That's just the keys we're not. But if not, it usually means that the lock assembly that you put the key into is starting to wear out. So maybe spray some WD-40 in there. It's a great lubricant it doesn't damage anything
