Is a 2000 Nissan Frontier SE-V6 a good small sized truck?

Hey Scotty,

I recently totaled my 2006 Toyota Matrix XR when I hit a deer. I loved the reliability in the car and Toyotas in general, and my only complaint about my Matrix was the how the headlights from other vehicles would shine directly into my eyes with how low to the ground it is. I found a 2000 Nissan Frontier SE-V6 with 103,483 miles on it at a local dealer for $6,895. I was wondering if this is a good vehicle for reliability and if not if you had any other suggestions for getting a bit off the ground in a reliable vehicle?

Frontiers are good trucks but the dealer asks too much money for it. You may be able to find a Tacoma with this price. Also, you want to buy a truck simply because it is higher?

The power and drivetrain are pretty solid on these trucks and they are pretty comfortable. Since its over 100,000 miles there will be some wear and tear and some components will need to be replaced. Only downside i see is the power and mpg. 170ish hp from a heavy v6 isn't decent enough and 15-22 mpg is not so good. But the truck is overall pretty reliable.

They are decent pickup trucks and back then they were well made. Keep in  mind the age and some things may go wrong.

Make sure to haggle on the price hard and have a pre-purchase inspection done before you buy it.

Scotty talks about the Nissan Frontier in many of his truck vidoes, check them out.
