Looking for a reliable used truck, around $28000 to $32000 and I've settled on a used Tacoma. After some research, it looks like there have been some questions on the reliability of the Tacoma's after the redesign in 2016. I'd like one somewhere between 2016 and 2019, are there any real concerns about the reliability and longevity of these newer ones? Or should I pull the trigger? Want something I can drive for a long, long time.
Tacomas can last forever. You pay through the nose for one but if you don't mind the price go for it.
Here's some self-reported data from carcomplaints.com (2016 & 2017 seem problematic, for different reasons).

And here are the listings for the TSBs, for Tacomas: http://www.toyotaproblems.com/models/tacoma/tsbs/
There's also a Tacomaworld site, with a subforum on 2016 and later models.

These are just some data points you might find relevant.
Good luck.
Yeah they were somewhat problematic they were ranked below average by Consumer Reports and had many problems with their transmissions. Check the links above.
Buy the last year of the previous generation, a 2015, they are bulletproof. I own a 2005 with 220K, I have not had a repair in years.
