Is a 2004 hyundai sonata a good 1st car?

I just saw a 2004 Hyundai sonata up for sale, it has 60k miles, and it's listed for 5k. It's the GLS with the V6. I've heard mixed things about Hyundai so I wanted to know its reliability. I do have a blue driver scan tool to be able to scan the computer. Should I check it out or is it a car I should stay away from?

Stay away from it. The older Hyundai cars are worse than new ones and considering how junk the new ones are, you should not consider them at all. Look for a Toyota or Honda.

A 2004 with 60K miles?  I don't think so.  This car is 17 years old AND one of the lowest quality automobiles on the planet.  Sprint away from this one.

Hell no, the 2004 sonatas are junk, they fall apart and they are horrible quality overall. From that year or older, I would look into Hondas like the Civic (Don't buy an Accord from that era because their transmissions were junk), Toyotas (Corolla, Camry), and maybe some older Nissans (Sentra (1.8 or 2.0 is great, don't buy the 2.5), or 2001 and older Altimas since 2002-2006 had lots of body and engine problems especially with the 2.5 4 cylinder).
