I am considering upgrading to a 2017 Lexus IS 300. I am currently driving a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek (highest trim level). The buyout for the Subaru is around $18,500 (it is on lease which will end in April 2022) and it has 55,000 km and a similar Lexus would be around $28,000 (50,000 to 100,000 km). My reason for the upgrade is that the Subaru is very slow and I really like the style and drive of the Lexus (plus the amazing reliability). I am also 25 and want to enjoy my daily driving experience. I would need to use the car as a daily though, I drive an average of 20,000 km a year. The last thing to note is that my Subaru has a minor accident on the rear bumper ($3,000) on record, but the Subaru of the same year/mileage/trim level is being sold for $25-26,000 at the Subaru dealership.
I already budgeted for the monthly expenses (gas, insurance, and $100 to maintenance), not including the price to purchase the vehicle:
Subaru: $475
Lexus: $650
Any advice would be awesome! Not sure whether buying it at the dealer or 3rd party is better.
Thanks!
Julian
Not a great cars if you want one but try to buy it from a third party dealers always rip people off
Hold onto your Crosstrek!
